Our Mission and Beliefs

Our Mission:

Our Mission is to glorify and worship the living God by preaching the Word, making disciples, and reaching out to the community and world for Jesus Christ.

Statement of Beliefs:

[The following statement of beliefs is a placeholder and has not yet been presented to or accepted by the leadership of the church.]

We believe that God exists, that he desires to be in relationship with us, and that he sent his son Jesus Christ to die as a perfect atoning sacrifice, once and for all, to pay for the misdeeds that seperate us from communion and relationship with God.  In Christ we can find a peace, a purpose, and a righteousness that comes not from ourselves, but from Him.

At the Harrison Presbyterian Church, the scriptures are accepted as the revealed and trustworthy word of God, for "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2 Tim 3:16)  A summary of our beliefs can be found in the well-known Apostle's Creed and Nicene Creed and we follow in the footsteps of the traditional Reformed theological understanding of God and his word as expressed in other Reformed/Presbyterian creeds.
